One of the key strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of solid waste is its proper management. Waste refers to substances that are discarded or required to be discarded according to legal guidelines. Wastes can be categorized into two types based on their physical state: solid and liquid.

Solid wastes encompass materials discarded from industries, commercial activities, mining, agriculture, and residential or community activities. For waste to be classified as solid, at least 20% of its content must be solid, and it should not release any liquids during transportation. The organized collection, treatment, and disposal of this solid waste are referred to as solid waste management.

Scope of Project

Solid waste management involves the systematic administration of activities that provide for the collection, source separation, storage, transportation, transfer, processing, treatment, and disposal of solid waste. The objective is to reduce the adverse effects of waste on human health and the environment. This project aims to develop a comprehensive, sustainable, and efficient solid waste management system that minimizes environmental impact, promotes recycling and resource recovery, and ensures community involvement and awareness.
